No Bats was honored to be invited back to Round Rock by host Ryan-Sanders Baseball for our 30th Anniversary. The $125,000 raised for the Nolan Ryan Foundation is the largest single donation the Foundation has ever received. Grant recipients from the Foundation include:
RBI Austin — nominated by Reid Ryan. Exists to engage and develop inner-city Austin youth athletically, academically, and spiritually, empowering them to lead the transformation of their communities. Through the donation, NRF will be a presenting sponsor for RBI’s largest fundraiser at the end of the month.
YMCA of Greater Houston — nominated by Nolan & Ruth Ryan. Our donation will help rebuild facilities after hurricane damage at YMCA Alvin as well as financially support the return of sport league programs after being shut down due to COVID-19.
Boys & Girls Club of the Austin Area — nominated by Reese Ryan. Serves more than 9,000 registered members at 33 locations in Travis and Bastrop counties in schools, community centers, and public housing sites. Offering a welcoming site for youth to grow. The NRF grant will be directed towards the scholarship programs of fee-based clubs/locations specifically looking to engage the teen population as well as those involved in summer programming.
Hope Alliance — nominated by Wendy Bivins & Ruth Ryan. Hope Alliance is Williamson County’s only resource center and emergency shelter for those affected by family and sexual violence. NRF’s donation will help support the Masters-level abuse/trauma counseling provided to adults and children in the emergency shelter and through the counseling center.
Round Rock Area Serving Center — nominated by Laura Fragoso. The Serving Center serves 1,100 households every month. Services include a food pantry, clothing & furniture vouchers, community gardens, transportation, financial assistance for utilities/rent, and many more. NRF’s grant will assist the Serving Center in the construction of a new building for their food pantry and charity resale store.
